Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some of the most frequently asked questions regarding the JudoShiai tournament software.

  • Where can I download the JudoShiai software?

The latest files can always be downloaded from Sourceforge here is the link https://sourceforge.net/projects/judoshiai/files/

  • How much does JudoShiai cost?

JudoShiai tournament software is free! There is no cost to use the software.

  • What equipment is required to run JudoShiai?

Initially, just a computer or laptop and a printer is required to get started with the main tournament software. We would recommend a machine with an i5 processor, 4/8GB RAM and an SSD drive and Windows 10 64bit operating system. However JudoShiai can still run on older operating systems (XP/Win7 32/64).

This will enable you get started with the software to create your event, print weigh-in cards, weigh-in competitors, create categories and then draw the contest sheets. These sheets would then be printed, sent to the tables and can be run with manual or electronic scoreboard.

Once you are comfortable with this, you can then start using more of the features, which will require some additional equipment, full details are in the JudoShiai menu item above.

  • Do you offer a service to run JudoShiai at events?

We do run many events throughout the UK and Ireland using the JudoShiai software. Our main JudoShiai software specialist is a British Judo Competition Controller and his colleague is a Competition Recorder.

If you provide all of the equipment, then we only charge for the live results service (if required). As we are judo volunteers, we would just require the normal travel, accommodation and subsidy expenses.

If you require us to bring equipment along then there will be an additional charge for this.

If you would like us to support one of your events, then please contact us using the menu link above. and we will get back to you as quickly as possible.

  • Do you provide JudoShiai training?

Absolutely, we would ideally like everyone that hosts judo events to have their own specialist in their area of the Country, as our calendar is pretty busy. We have already run a number of courses throughout the UK and would be happy to support any future courses.

Following the training we are happy to support your users at their first couple of events until they are confident using the software.

If you would like to arrange a training course then please contact us using the menu link above.

We are also planning to record a number of help videos to support interested users of the software. More details on this soon.....
